Felder starred in a musical comedy show called FTV in 1985-1986. Felder is an excellent golfer and even hosted his own tournament, the Howard Keel Golf Classic. As a teenager Don used to give guitar lessons to make extra money. One of his students was a fellow teenager named Tom Petty.
