Dear Rockers,
On Wednesday night I had the pleasure to attend the Jeff Beck/ZZ Top show at the Greek Theater. I must admit it, I was blown away at the musicianship of Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons performing together. Beck’s untouchable talents were on full display for the show. Beck opened his set with “Big Block,” the Hendrix classic “Little Wing” and so much other material that gave him ample room to show off his skills. Everyone was admiring Jeff Beck including our recent camp headliner, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith.
ZZ Top continued the night with their 90 minute set filled with all the hits from beginning to end. Guitarist Billy Gibbons rocked the house with his never matched guitar riffs and stage presence. Supported by their amazing bands, Beck and ZZ Top proved again why they have ruled and continue to rule the rock world.
My night started off with a bang when I attended the Classic Rock Magazine press event at the British Embassy in Los Angeles where they announced that the Classic Rock Awards Show is coming to Hollywood this November. The host for the evening was none other than Sammy Hagar who will also MC the upcoming award show. Sammy brought along Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson for this spectular evening. Sammy Hagar will be headlining Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp's annual President Day Weekend Camp in Las Vegas, February 12-15, 2015.
If you can, be sure to make it out to these two amazing tours. You will not be disappointed.
Another tour soon to be announced it The Who's 50th anniversary which has already SOLD OUT many shows in Europe and is coming to the States in 2015. If you want to Rock Out with Roger Daltrey and, at the same time, support his charity Teen Cancer America, make sure to sign up for our next camp at Foxwoods Resort Casino, October 16-19, 2014.
I also recently had the chance to preview a new upcoming documentary titled "Turn It Up" hosted by Kevin Bacon. The movie features many of our campers and rock stars and you can view the trailer by clicking here. If you attended a past camp you find yourself in the film along with SLASH, BB KING, NANCY WILSON, JOHN 5 and so many others. The featured documentary is sure to be awinner.
