Dear Rockers,

Not only do you get to jam with our incredible headliners at camp, but our counselors are true rock stars in every sense!  Do you want to learn from some of the greatest touring and recording bass players around? Our amazing rock star counselors have toured the world, performed in front of millions and played on some of rock n' roll biggest hit songs!

STU HAMM Through his innovative work as a solo artist and his contributions as a sideman to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, Stuart Hamm has firmly established himself as one of the most influential electric bassists of the past half-century. Extending the non-traditional function of the electric bass previously revolutionized by Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke in the 1970s, Hamm helped to reshape the contemporary concept of the bass guitar as an unaccompanied instrument with the utilization of polyphonic, two-handed tapping, slapping and popping techniques, chords, and harmonics.
As one of today’s leading bassists, Hamm has released four critically-acclaimed studio recordings. On Radio Free Albemuth (1988), Kings Of Sleep (1989), The Urge (1991), and Outbound (2000), Hamm showcased his unique style of playing the bass as a lead instrument both within a solo environment and various ensemble formats on a genre-spanning spectrum of repertoire that merged rock, jazz, fusion, classical, country, and urban sounds.

Live Stu X 2, the fifth solo project produced by Hamm and his first as a solo artist in nearly seven years, was released in January 2007 and features a diverse compilation of classic tracks recorded by Hamm during his set on the first leg of the Bx3 tour in Philadelphia last April as well as a few previously unrecorded pieces that were captured in San Francisco before a live audience in 2004.
In addition to his barrier-breaking solo sessions, Hamm has been hailed for his recording and touring stints with guitar icons Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. His long-time associations with Vai and Satriani garnered Hamm award-winning recognition on a global scale, and as a result, Hamm has received an extensive list of accolades such as being voted “Best Jazz Bassist” and “Best Rock Bassist” multiple times in magazine polls conducted by several major print publications.

For the past two decades, Hamm has toured as one of the world’s premier bass clinicians. He has also demonstrated his signature techniques and methodologies to avid students through his best-selling instructional videos, Slap, Pop & Tap For The Bass and Deeper Inside The Bass, and a book of transcriptions, Stuart Hamm – The Bass Book, which contains a collection of Hamm’s greatest hits from his first three solo releases. He has also created an introductory course to bass guitar called Bass Basics with the folks at TrueFire.com.

Based on the highly successful G3 tours he was a part of in the 1990’s which featured guitarists Satriani, Vai, and Eric Johnson, Hamm founded the Bx3 tour in April 2006 that has subsequently taken him along with fellow bass pioneers Billy Sheehan and Jeff Berlin from the United States to Asia.

BJORN ENGLEN Born in Sweden, in 1993 Bjorn re-located to Los Angeles, California and in 1994 became the bass player for the multi-platinum selling band QUIET RIOT (the first Heavy Metal group to ever reach No. 1 album on Billboard).

In the late 90s and early 2000s Bjorn worked extensively as a sought after L.A. session bassist  recording at many of the major studios with countless name artists incl. members of Elton John, Heart, The Supremes, Alice Cooper, Sweet, Paul Rodgers & many more.

From 2004-2006 he joined forces with MSG/Survivor vocalist ROBIN McAULEY touring throughtout the US, as well as recording and performing as the band Bleed.

For the next five years from 2007-2012 Englen came to be the bass player for neo-classical guitar icon YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, touring all over the world incl. America, Europe and Asia in front of audiences as big as 60.000 people.

In 2010-2013 he also did numerous performances with Scorpions guitar legend ULI JON ROTH. Since 2011 Bjorn has been touring worldwide with guitar/keyboard virtuoso TONY MACALPINE. In 2011 he was concurrently working with three of the biggest guitar gods of all time!

In 2012 Englen became a member of The Official Dio Band DIO DISCIPLES (featuring longtime Dio members Craig Goldy, Simon Wright & Scott Warren). Managed by Wendy Dio the group has since then toured worldwide with more to come.
Throughout his career Bjorn has also spent some time educating upcoming bass players and musicians through numerous clinics & master classes worldwide incl. major schools like Musicians Institute & L.A. College of Music, as well as clinics for EBS amps & Carvin guitars.

He estimates having played about 2000 live shows and performed on over 50 albums.
CHIP Z'NUFF is the bass player and founding member of the band Enuff Z'Nuff, founded by singer Donnie Vie and himself. This Chicago area band is best known for their charting singles "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing".

Enuff Z'Nuff has continually recorded and toured throughout their career of more than 30 years, releasing 12 studio albums and a total of 20 CDs to date. Its songs have been recorded by several other musicians, some of which include Paul GilbertThe Wildhearts, and Nelson. The group has appeared on MTV, Howard Stern and David Letterman. Their music has been released on Atco Records and Arista Records.

By 1989, the band had released their first major label offering, a self-titled debut album on Atco Records. For this recording, founding members Donnie Vie and Chip  were joined by ex-Le Mans guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vik Foxx. The band had two charting hits with the psychedelic-flavored pop rock songs "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle," both of which received steady airplay on MTV. A few years later, the band's heavy glam rock appearance in the music videos would be parodied on Beavis & Butthead.
For their follow-up album, 1991's Strength, the band consciously toned down their glam image. Strengthwas released in 1991 on Atco to strong reviews, including Rolling Stone magazine calling the group "The Hot Band of the Year." There were promotional videos for the singles "Mother's Eyes" and "Baby Loves You", as well as an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman

When the band left Atco Records they were picked up by Clive Davis' Arista Records label for their 1993 album Animals with Human Intelligence. Some notable events include many appearances on The Howard Stern Show, local appearances on the Mancow's Morning Madhouse radio program, a 1998 performance on The Jenny Jones Show, a pair of features on VH1 about hair bands in 1999, and attaining an opening slot for Poison's 2001 "Glam Slam Metal Jam" tour.

In 2006, original members Chip Z'Nuff and Donnie Viereconvened to shoot a pilot for the VH1 reality television show, Bands on the Run.. The show's pilot episode never aired. However, during that time the reunited band held their initial recording sessions for their 12th record. Several songs from these sessions eventually resulted in their latest studio album, Dissonance, which also features former Ozzy Osbourne / Badlands guitarist Jake E. Lee on guitar. With Vie rejoining the live shows in 2008, Dissonancewas released in 2009 in Japan, with a U.K. release following in 2010. In support of the album, Enuff Z'Nuff toured both Japan and Europe, including the Download Festival in the U.K. Chip Z'Nuff was a regular co-host on Mancow's Morning Madhouseuntil October 2014, when the show was cancelled. He is now an occasional co-host on the new Mancow Muller Morning Show. Z'nuff had performed worldwide with ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler in a band called Adler's Appetite. He is also promoting his first solo album entitled "Strange Time".

Enuff Z'nuff will release an album of original material on Frontiers Records in Fall 2016, tentatively titled "Old School." The band is continuing with Chip as the lead singer and bass player.

A very special master class with a GRAMMY award winning singer-songwriter

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp - You on Stage with Rock Stars. Jam, Write, Record and Perform with the World's Greatest Rock Stars.
Upcoming Camps EventsCorporate Team Building Programs EventsContact Us

Dear Rockers,

We are thrilled to announce that we have added Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester, as a special guest to our songwriter package, at the upcoming camp with Paul Stanley and Don Felder June 23-26, 2016 in Hollywood CA. Melissa will be teaching a special interactive songwriting master class based around your original material.

During this very intimate class, Melissa will work with our campers on their original songs, as she gives insight to her own songwriting techniques and methods. She will listen to YOUR song and work thru it with you so that it becomes the final product you have in mind.   You will have the opportunity to participate in this extraordinary experience as you ask Melissa for advice, guidance and learn from her incredible musical career that has spanned over 40 years!

Melissa Manchester’s remarkable recording career started when she signed her first publishing deal at the age of 17. Soon after, the native New Yorker was singing back-up for Bette Midler as a founding member of the Harlettes, and studying songwriting with Paul Simon at New York University. Her debut album, Home to Myself, was released in 1973; Manchester co-wrote many of its songs with Carole Bayer Sager. Two years later, Manchester's album Melissa produced her first top ten hit, "Midnight Blue", which enjoyed 17 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Her recording of the Peter Allen/Carole Bayer Sager anthem “Don’t Cry Out Loud” earned Melissa her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance in 1979, an award that she won four years later for her hit “You Should Hear How She Talks About You”. Also in 1979, not one, but TWO  of her songs, “Through the Eyes of Love” and “The Promise,” were nominated for Academy Awards.

Manchester collaborated with KENNY LOGGINS to co-write Loggins' 1978 hit duet with STEVIE NICKS,  "Whenever I Call You Friend"
She's also a talented actress, which she showed in her role as the mother on NBC’s Blossom
Today, Melissa teaches music at USC, and recently released her first studio album in a decade, titled "You Gotta Love the Life."

Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from a true music icon! All campers will be welcome to attend.

And now a word from ROB HALFORD (JUDAS PRIEST)...

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp - You on Stage with Rock Stars. Jam, Write, Record and Perform with the World's Greatest Rock Stars.
Upcoming Camps EventsCorporate Team Building Programs EventsContact Us

A recent interview with Rob Halford on ULTIMATECLASSICROCK.com:

Long before Rob Halford of Judas Priest became known as the “Metal God,” he was just another young struggling musician who had his own dreams of future success. Now more than four decades later, he’s reflecting on those experiences at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The camp gives fans a chance to live out their rock ‘n’ roll fantasies, learning the ins and outs of performing, playing music and more — all taught by rock stars who’ve been through it all.
After 2014’s successful run, Hell Bent for Vegas, Halford and members of the legendary British heavy metal group are returning for a second round. This time, they’ll head out on the highway to Hollywood on Aug. 4-7 for Vol. 2 — Hell Bent for Hollywood, and the veteran vocalist is looking forward to sharing some of the wisdom he’s accumulated over the years.

“Being in a band is very much like being in any kind of teamwork organization, if you want to look at it in that respect,” Halford tells Ultimate Classic Rock. “It’s all about working together, learning how to be in a band and that incorporates so many nuances of emotions, getting along with each other and getting your points across and being accepted, how to deal with rejection, how to deal with failure. These are all life lessons that you get from the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp. So it can be quite deep at a certain level, although the top side of it is that it’s so much fun. That’s the other reason why we decided to do it again: We had such a great time last time.”

After spending so many years sharing their music from the concert stage, Halford is grateful for the opportunity to give back in a different way.

“I think that’s important, especially when you’ve had such an amazing time as we have in Priest,” he says. “We’re always looking for these kinds of opportunities, more than ever now. It’s just such a great display of joy and affection and love and support that you’re involved with through the whole thing. It was the first time for all of us the last time we did this in Vegas, and no matter what you’re told by your fellow musicians, to experience it for the first time yourself is just remarkable. To see what can be achieved in such a short space of time as well is quite amazing. Somebody who didn’t know how to play guitar can be taught the basic rudiments in just a few hours to play the songs that need to be played.”

For both Halford and the fans, the Fantasy Camp experience is one that is different than the interactions they’ve shared previously.
“[There are a lot of] great fans who have either seen a band like Priest live or listened to our music. To actually kind of be with each other, face to face, it’s a thrill not only for the fans of Priest, but also for us, because you get to kind of experience a different side of your fan base. This is what’s so cool about it. Because you don’t necessarily have to have an ability to play an instrument — that’s what you’re actually taught at the Fantasy Camp, which is great, you know? I always thought that the fans that were coming in were already kind of proficient musicians and you don’t have to be a proficient musician. You don’t even have to be a musician. That’s one of the many joys about it. So you’re actually involved in something quite bigger than the music itself and so that’s really appealing not only for us, but I would imagine for all of the other musicians who have been involved with the camp over the years.”
The event will culminate with the camp attendees getting the chance to jam with four members of Judas Priest — Halford, guitarist Richie Faulkner, drummer Scott Travis and bassist Ian Hill — at the legendary Whisky a Go Go, a room that holds special times for Halford.

“If my old metalhead memory serves me well, that was one of the first venues that Priest ever played when we came to America,” he says. “The Whisky is a legendary venue. It’s the equivalent of what CBGB’s was in New York City, which is now sadly gone. The Whisky is just this remarkable small building that just has a stunning history of rock ‘n’ roll. I haven’t been in the Whisky forever, so going back there will be a thrill and a treat as well. I think we’ll all be a bit of the deer in the headlights.”

Halford also recalls that his group might have also shared the Whisky stage with Van Halen, a band that blew him away — especially hearing young Eddie Van Halen for the first time. “It was stunning. I have a great memory of a couple of people that were looking after Priest in the very early days, they came into my house one night and they said, ‘You’ve gotta listen to this cassette, man. It’s this band and they’re new from America and you’ve got to check out this guitarist named Eddie Van Halen,’” he says.
“I didn’t have a cassette player in the house, because I was poor, so I sat in the car and listened to a cassette and the opening of Eddie’s ‘Eruption,’ and you just sit there going, ‘Oh, this is a game changer.’ There are specific guitar heroes of mine that have always been revolutionary, and Eddie was definitely one of those guys. So to go from sitting outside my house in the car listening to Van Halen to actually opening up for them at that time at the Santa Monica Civic, not too long right after that memorable night, was a real thrill. And America at that time, was really rumbling heavily with the roots of what would be the American versions of metal and hard rock that was coming over from the U.K.”
