As one of today’s leading bassists, Hamm has released four critically-acclaimed studio recordings. On Radio Free Albemuth (1988), Kings Of Sleep (1989), The Urge (1991), and Outbound (2000), Hamm showcased his unique style of playing the bass as a lead instrument both within a solo environment and various ensemble formats on a genre-spanning spectrum of repertoire that merged rock, jazz, fusion, classical, country, and urban sounds. Live Stu X 2, the fifth solo project produced by Hamm and his first as a solo artist in nearly seven years, was released in January 2007 and features a diverse compilation of classic tracks recorded by Hamm during his set on the first leg of the Bx3 tour in Philadelphia last April as well as a few previously unrecorded pieces that were captured in San Francisco before a live audience in 2004. In addition to his barrier-breaking solo sessions, Hamm has been hailed for his recording and touring stints with guitar icons Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. His long-time associations with Vai and Satriani garnered Hamm award-winning recognition on a global scale, and as a result, Hamm has received an extensive list of accolades such as being voted “Best Jazz Bassist” and “Best Rock Bassist” multiple times in magazine polls conducted by several major print publications. For the past two decades, Hamm has toured as one of the world’s premier bass clinicians. He has also demonstrated his signature techniques and methodologies to avid students through his best-selling instructional videos, Slap, Pop & Tap For The Bass and Deeper Inside The Bass, and a book of transcriptions, Stuart Hamm – The Bass Book, which contains a collection of Hamm’s greatest hits from his first three solo releases. He has also created an introductory course to bass guitar called Bass Basics with the folks at TrueFire.com. Based on the highly successful G3 tours he was a part of in the 1990’s which featured guitarists Satriani, Vai, and Eric Johnson, Hamm founded the Bx3 tour in April 2006 that has subsequently taken him along with fellow bass pioneers Billy Sheehan and Jeff Berlin from the United States to Asia. CHIP Z'NUFF is the bass player and founding member of the band Enuff Z'Nuff, founded by singer Donnie Vie and himself. This Chicago area band is best known for their charting singles "Fly High Michelle" and "New Thing". By 1989, the band had released their first major label offering, a self-titled debut album on Atco Records. For this recording, founding members Donnie Vie and Chip were joined by ex-Le Mans guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vik Foxx. The band had two charting hits with the psychedelic-flavored pop rock songs "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle," both of which received steady airplay on MTV. A few years later, the band's heavy glam rock appearance in the music videos would be parodied on Beavis & Butthead. For their follow-up album, 1991's Strength, the band consciously toned down their glam image. Strengthwas released in 1991 on Atco to strong reviews, including Rolling Stone magazine calling the group "The Hot Band of the Year." There were promotional videos for the singles "Mother's Eyes" and "Baby Loves You", as well as an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. When the band left Atco Records they were picked up by Clive Davis' Arista Records label for their 1993 album Animals with Human Intelligence. Some notable events include many appearances on The Howard Stern Show, local appearances on the Mancow's Morning Madhouse radio program, a 1998 performance on The Jenny Jones Show, a pair of features on VH1 about hair bands in 1999, and attaining an opening slot for Poison's 2001 "Glam Slam Metal Jam" tour. In 2006, original members Chip Z'Nuff and Donnie Viereconvened to shoot a pilot for the VH1 reality television show, Bands on the Run.. The show's pilot episode never aired. However, during that time the reunited band held their initial recording sessions for their 12th record. Several songs from these sessions eventually resulted in their latest studio album, Dissonance, which also features former Ozzy Osbourne / Badlands guitarist Jake E. Lee on guitar. With Vie rejoining the live shows in 2008, Dissonancewas released in 2009 in Japan, with a U.K. release following in 2010. In support of the album, Enuff Z'Nuff toured both Japan and Europe, including the Download Festival in the U.K. Chip Z'Nuff was a regular co-host on Mancow's Morning Madhouseuntil October 2014, when the show was cancelled. He is now an occasional co-host on the new Mancow Muller Morning Show. Z'nuff had performed worldwide with ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler in a band called Adler's Appetite.
