Have you ever wondered what it was like during the recording of Apetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses, or Rust in Peace by Megadeth? Or what it's like to work with Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie or Marilyn Manson? The two upcoming camps will feature two multi- plantinum selling, world re-knowned producers that will spend the day recording your band in a professional recording studio. Mike Clink will be the producer for our Paul Stanley/Don Felder, June 23-26 camp. Mike began his career as an engineer at Record Plant Studios, recording such bands as Whitesnake,Triumph, Guns N' Roses,Megadeth, UFO (including Strangers in the Night), Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, Eddie Money and many others.Steve Kurutz at AllMusic writes about one of Clink’s earliest production experiences: "…after a series of failed attempts, a young band named Guns N' Roses asked Clink to produce their debut album, Appetite for Destruction…". Clink’s collaboration with Guns N' Roses lasted for five albums which sold a combined total of around 90 million copies. Known for working with legendary bands such as Aerosmith, Motley Crue and Metallica, Clink also specializes in developing new talent, including Grammy nominated artist Sarah Kelly. Traveling the world to record the biggest media events, Mike’s credits include ABC’s Millennium Broadcast from Osaka, Japan, the Super Bowl XXXV Halftime Show, Super Bowl XXXVII pre-game show, and the 2002 FIFA World Cup Soccer Championship. Mike frequently speaks on panels for The Recording Academy (NARAS), the Audio Engineering Society (AES), and forums that focus on digital rights and new media technology. Mike is a Trustee of the Los Angeles Chapter and a member the National Steering Committee of the Producers and Engineers Wing at NARAS. Bob Marlette will be the producer for our Judas Priest, Aug 4-7 camp Bob began his music career in high school and when Rudy Sarzo and Frankie Banali came thru town and they put together a band which would eventually become Quiet Riot. He was later offered the keyboard player position for Al Stewart’s band and toured the world on the strength of his massive single's, “Year of the cat” and "Time Passages". He later became a session player/song writer, which led him to work Tracy Chapman, Laura Branigan, Wilson Phillips, Rick Springfield, Sheryl Crow and many others. In the late 80’s he worked with Gregg Rolie from Journey which introduced me to Neal Schon enabling him to produce his solo record "Late Night". After this period he had the privilege of working with an 18 yr old John 5 via his band “Red Square Black”. This seems to be the launching pad for his eventual immersion into rock. Suddenly Rob Halford and Black Sabbath are calling him to produce their records. He has been able to create a style and approach that worked for many of the staples of modern rock- Alice Cooper, Marylyn Manson, Tony Iommi/Glenn Hughes, Saliva, Seether, Shinedown, Filter, Rob Zombie, Airborne, Anvil, Blackstone Cherry and many many others.” Spend the day in the recording studio with one of these incredible producers. Learn the ins-and-outs of recording from these masters, and you will also receive a digital recording to share with all your friends and family!
