We want to thank you all for the overwhelming response to our free camp giveaway. In the first 24 hours, over a thousand emails came in from around the world with amazing stories. Below, we wanted to share with you the winning entry that we've chosen to attend our next camp:

"Dear Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp,

There are many reasons why I believe my Dad deserves to be the winner of your give away, so to say.

My Dad gave up touring with a band that had a good chance of making it big to be there when I was born in 1993. There have been many times when I've thought back about it and cried. It kills me to know that he gave up his dream to see me born, even though he's my Father and he did the right thing. He's always loved music and has been playing bass ever since he was 14. Music is all he wants to do in life. It makes him happy; it's everything to him. He's been in plenty of bands but I don't think he's been given all that he really deserves. My Father is a very loving and caring man, and always has been. My Mother has never been there for me so my Dad has been a single parent ever since my parents separated, raising me since I was 4 years old. He's blown off a good many opportunities while I was growing up to be there for me and raise me. When I found out about your program going on, I thought it would be the perfect thing for him. He's always talked about broadening his skills and going to your camp and when I read about the amazing stuff you're doing and all the amazing people that would be there I just knew I had to nominate him. I can't think of anyone more deserving of it.

I apologize for this not being well typed, I'm crying as I write this. I know there might be a million other nominees out there for this but, I really think my Dad deserves it the most. I want to see my Dad happy. I feel like I owe him so much for loving and taking care of me for the 18 years I've been alive. He's not only my Dad, he's my only friend. No matter what weird thing I decide to do to myself, he supports me 100%. He inspires me to never give up on my dream of being an artist no matter what anyone says everyday by how committed and how in love he is with his music. His mother died two years ago from Alzheimer's and I can tell that it gets to him still everyday. I think going and participating in this amazing event will help him with a lot of the stress and depression that he's been going through lately. Please consider my Dad. I wish I could talk to whoever is reading this personally so that I could maybe explain even more and truly show how much this would mean to not only me, but to him. I want my Father to be happy. He's all I have and I'd love to see him smile and have the time of his life.

So please, PLEASE consider my Dad. It's always been his dream to make it big with his musical talent and even though I can't make that happen, I think going and playing with all those awesome Rock Stars that he knows and loves would make him really happy and possibly brighten up his spirits from the loss of his Mother. Even though he tells me that I'm a good daughter, I still feel like I haven't done enough for him and that I'm the reason why he hasn't fulfilled his dreams. Please help me do this for him. I can't stress this enough. I love him so much and I want him to have the time of his life.

During our last camp, we had a reporter join us for the day. Read his article below, and see an insider's perspective from last week's amazing Playboy Camp.

(Reuters) - The decibel level in the small, bunker-like rehearsal room is ear-shattering and every loose item in the space is shaking as if an earthquake struck.

But it's no temblor -- just business as usual at the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp where ex-Runaways guitarist Lita Ford is leading a group of 30-something, would-be rock stars through a bone-jarring version of "Roadrunner."

"We're doing The Who's version," says 53-year-old rocker Ford, an enthusiastic coach who guides her equally enthusiastic charges -- three guitarists, a singer and two drummers -- through the arrangement.

As befits a Who homage, it's loud. But there's no guitar smashing, scowling or bad attitude. Everyone looks happy.

Other rooms in the Camp's North Hollywood complex feature similar scenes, with other rock teachers -- Kiss singer Paul Stanley, Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice and producer-songwriter Mark Hudson -- schooling students on the finer points of hard rock, playing and performing.

But big changes are on the horizon for the "camp," now in its 14th year, where people of all ages who dream of rock stardom can bring their axes and learn to shred like Pete Townshend or Guns N' Roses' Slash.

David Fishof, who founded the camp after years as a manager and tour producer for Ringo Starr and The Monkees, estimates that some 7,000 have attended one of the sessions held six times a year at various locations including New York, Philadelphia and London.

"It gets bigger every year," he said, and to cope with the demand, Fishof is planning to open a permanent location in Las Vegas. "We're in negotiations with a major hotel, and it's going to happen within the next year," he said.

GOING CORPORATE

Fishof also is setting up camp in corporate markets, planning events and performing exercises with executives that focus on successful collaboration and task completion.

"We get a rock star like Lita to work with them, rewriting a song they're famous for and tailoring the lyrics specifically to a company sales model or convention," he said.

While the operation has focused exclusively on classic, metal and hard rock so far, Fishof promises other genres are about to get the same boot camp treatment.

He wants to branch into alternative rock music, country and even jazz once they get a permanent location, and they plan to bring in celebrity musicians from each genre.

Fishof says that the camp attracts a cross-section of people, not just aging adults who long ago gave up on a career in music but still harbor dreams of rocking out.

"We get mothers, 15-year-old kids, top executives and music fans from all over the country," he said. "The common denominator is their love for music, and many of them keep coming back, they love the experience so much."

And that's not only true for fans, but for the rock stars, too. Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler worked at the camp last year and is returning again in May to teach. "He had a great time and was eager to come back," said Fishof.

"It's been a surprisingly rewarding experience," said Ford who freely admits that, "back in the '70s and '80s, I'd never have imagined doing this. But I really enjoy teaching people how to overcome their fears."

She cites one young drummer "who froze every time he had to do a fill." Ford and a drummer worked with the nervous musician for days with success. The drummer and his group won the trophy for best percussion section at a local showcase.

"He came up to me afterward, and was so excited and went, 'I got it! I understand it now!'" recalled Ford. "It was such a huge pay-off for me, so it's not just about the music and guys living out this rock 'n' roll fantasy. It's about people who come in here, their hands shaking, who can't even look you in the face. We help them face those fears and conquer them -- and have a great time doing it."

First of all, I'm glad that all of our campers and friends are safe from hurricane Irene. I remember when I moved to the West Coast three years ago, all of my New York friends told me to watchout for the earthquakes and hurricanes in Los Angeles.

It seemed that everyone who had power through the storm and throughout the country must have tuned into the second episode of "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp" on Saturday, because our viewership doubled in just one week! If you weren't able to catch it when it aired, check it out here on Vh1's website. You can get your Paul Stanley fix until you come to camp this November! A new episode will air this Saturday at 10 PM EST on Vh1 Classic, features Marky Ramone - check your local listings.

I was able to get a sneak peak of how great our Playboy Mansion party will be by attending a party at the Mansion last weekend with my wife. I spoke with a lot of people who said it had been on their "Bucket List" to see Hugh Hefner and to come to the Mansion, and the night was fun for all. Our own Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp alumni, The Cover Girls from Austin Texas, were the night's entertainment. The Cover Girls met while dropping their kids off at music lessons, and decided to form a band come to Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp. Under the direction of Kip Winger, and with some help from Lita Ford, they were prepared to perform at the Mansion and to meet and hang with Hef. It was truly amazing to see the Cover Girls on stage at the Mansion.

Speaking of upcoming camps, I always like to ask campers for suggestions of musicians they want to jam with. One name seems to come up among the likes of Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton, and that is Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule, so I am excited to announce that Warren will be joining us at our President's Day Weekend camp alongside Zakk Wylde, legendary guitarist Steve Vai and Guns 'n Roses drummer Matt Sorum. I'm also excited to announce that Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer and legendary singer-songwriter of the Rascals, Felix Cavaliere, will be joining this amazing group of rockers. With hits like "Groovin," and "Beautiful Morning," along with his superb talent on the B3 Hammond, Felix's appearance is something not to be missed.

Woodstock Camp Testimonials

Hi David,

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Woodstock Rock Camp. The whole experience was great, and has motivated me to keep practicing and eventually come back for another camp.

As you may know, I went into the camp pretty skeptical about how it would go -- how could a "beginner" band give a live performance that was anything other than a joke?

Well, I was thankfully wrong, and Teddy was one of the main reasons. He did such a great job matching the songs to our band's overall capability, matching the band members to specific parts, and coaching us individually and as a band. He also and worked tirelessly throughout the camp to improve the arrangements of our songs, refining the way we played and adding lead-ins and transitions to tie the whole thing together and make it a "performance." Finally, he encouraged and challenged us, with great enthusiasm and patience, to work hard and keep improving both individually and as a band throughout the time leading up to our performance. I can't believe the progress we made in three days, and how well our performance went. More than anyone, Teddy made it possible and, perhaps more importantly, he made it fun. He was a great "rock star counselor."

I guess my "breakthrough" experience for the Woodstock Rock Camp was just being able to get up on stage in front of a live audience and contribute to a pretty good performance by our band. As someone who came into the camp able to play only about 10 guitar chords and having never performed live (other than a piano recital when I was about 8 years old) I did not believe this would be possible, let alone with a band formed just three days prior from a group of total strangers.

Hi David,

As you know this was the second camp for me, the first one being in 2006 in NY. Since we won the Battle of the Bands that year, I didn't think the experience could be topped, especially on an emotional level.

Well, you did it again.

Prior to the auditions, I thought that they were arbitrary in how people were placed in bands. The band I was in was just fantastic musically and personally. It was obvious some thought was put into how you placed people in the bands.

As counselors go, Rudy Sarzo is one of the sincerest and most wonderful people I have ever met. He is a giant asset to the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. From day one, the band and Rudy connected musically and personally. Besides being a great musician, he is a great person. All the other counselors, especially Teddy Z., Mark Hudson and Kip Winger were terrific. For example, I show up for the camp and Teddy sees me and knows my name.

The open jams were a blast. When you walk into a jam room and Mark knows your name (and I wasn't even in his band) and ordered me to sing dueting with him and then Kip, well, it just doesn't get better than that. My wife saw how I was recognized by these professionals and was blown away, it made me feel like a million bucks.

I told the first-time campers in the band that it would be emotional and it wouldn't hit them until after we performed. Sure enough, at the mansion my band members came to me with tears in their eyes and told me I was right. We are now planning to play benefits on the east and west coasts. This is the impact you have on us.

Your staff is absolutely amazing...please tell them for me.

Hi David,

Hope you recovered from the weekend...I've been smiling and in a good mood since I got home. You put together an over the top experience and delivered on all of your promises and then some. THANK YOU!! I've been in touch with my band mates exchanging photos, videos, and kudos to one another for the great time we spent together. Somehow the pairings were spot on.....I admit to being nervous on day one but that melted quickly thanks to the good natured Rudy Sarzo who put everyone at ease. What a great guy....My hats off also to Mark Hudson. I found him thoroughly entertaining (took his song writing master class), and I'd go so far as to think of him as the face of the camp experience; a critical component to the atmosphere of the camp. My wife and I also kind of hit it off with David Rosenthal (Billy Joel's Keyboardist) as well. He was just pleasant to talk to....No ego whatsoever....just a talented, easy going guy.

Again....thank you for one of those rare life experiences that had me living a dream. Very likely I'll be back for more down the road.

I met with the principals of a great website www.talenthouse.com who offer amazing oppurtunities for the artist community.
